Q1: What motivated you to study abroad in China? Also, why did you choose Gengdan Institute?

A: My home university has established a long-standing partnership with Gengdan Institute. Both sides engage in deep collaboration in academic exchanges and student mobility programs, which provided me with this exceptional study opportunity.

Q2: What were your first impressions of the campus and fellow students when you first arrived?

A: Upon arrival, I was deeply impressed by the warmth of both students and faculty. They proactively assisted me in obtaining my student ID, exploring campus, and providing detailed introductions to facilities and services. Especially during my initial adjustment period, when I felt disoriented in an unfamiliar environment, their patient guidance and friendly demeanor made me feel right at home. This quickly eased my nerves and filled me with anticipation for my upcoming study abroad experience.

Q3: Since arriving at the university, have any particular activities, events, or individuals left a lasting impression on you? Could you share why they stand out?

A: The field trip to the Mengniu factory was truly unforgettable. It was my first opportunity to bridge the gap between classroom theory and industry. Through this hands-on experience, I gained deep insights into the operational models, production processes, and advanced management philosophies of a modern enterprise in China. The detailed explanations from the factory professionals gave me a fresh perspective on the food processing industry. This blend of practical experience and theory proved immensely valuable, offering me a more tangible understanding of Chinese corporate development.

Q4: Compared to your home university, what are the most noticeable differences between Chinese classmates and classmates there, as well as between Chinese teachers/professors and teachers/professors there?

A: Overall, the teaching methods and class schedules at Chinese universities are quite similar to those in my home country, with classroom instruction as the main focus and practical activities as a supplement. However, Chinese universities have relatively more frequent exams. In addition to midterms and finals, there are also regular quizzes and assignments. This frequent testing allows for timely assessment of learning outcomes, helping us identify our weaknesses and adjust our study methods accordingly to better grasp the material. This is very helpful for reinforcing what we learn.

Q5: During your time at Gengdan Institute, have you encountered any issues that caused you distress, concern, or difficulty adapting? If so, were they resolved? How?

A: When I first arrived at Gengdan Institute, most of the cafeteria menus were in Chinese, which I couldn't understand well. Every time I ordered, I had to open my translation App to look up the food names, which was very inconvenient. However, over time, I started proactively learning common dish names and ingredient vocabulary. Now I can gradually recognize some dish names. Sometimes the cafeteria staff patiently explain the flavors and cooking methods of the dishes to me, helping me make better choices. Ordering has become much smoother now.

Q6: Would you consider returning to China in the future to continue your studies, or even to work and live here? Why?

A: If the opportunity arises in the future, I would be very willing to come back to China to study or work. During my time in China, I've grown deeply fond of its culture and lifestyle. The rich historical heritage, diverse cuisine, and warm-hearted people have left me with fond memories. Moreover, China's rapid development offers vast opportunities across many fields. Studying and working here would greatly benefit my personal growth and career advancement, so I eagerly anticipate returning.

Q7: How do you think this study experience in China will help or influence your future?

A: My time studying in China has enabled a qualitative leap in my Chinese language proficiency. From basic daily communication to now being able to fluently read professional literature and engage in academic discussions, my listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills have all improved comprehensively. This not only adds significant value to my future career development but also, in a globalized context, allows me to participate more effectively in international project collaborations and facilitate cross-cultural communication. Whether joining multinational corporations or pursuing work in international affairs, this will be a highly competitive asset on my resume.
